mongolian horsemilk 1Have you ever had horse's milk? I have... Bruce Johnson and I had a wonderful trip to Asia recently and while in Mongolia our A3 leadership team took us on a fun little excursion about an hour or so outside of Ulaan Baatar. We entered a Gurt (Yurt for my Kazakh friends) and the hosts offered us a goblet of horse's milk as a special gift. So, each of us in turn, drank from the metal goblet. All I can say is "What an unusual taste!" ...

My eyes have been glued to the Olympics the last week or so. The opening ceremony, Michael Phelps and Dara Torres—all have captured my imagination. The opening was a fresh reminder of what heaven will look like (Revelation 5:9): people from every tongue and tribe worshipping God in unity. What a glorious day that will be!  It is so exciting to now be up and running as the president of A3. My first few weeks have been inspiring as I’ve met many of our staff and partners in the US and Japan. I never particularly liked gers (yurts) since my childhood, being born and raised in the city, thinking it is not modern, messy, primitive, complicated etc. After Jesus accepted me, I started to realize many negative principles behind the city lifestyle, and started valuing old way of Mongolians living in gers. I probably can not live in a ger, but serious about applying the principles of community living and fighting the spirit of self-seeking and materialism...

A few weeks ago, I met Ken, the founder of our mission. What an amazing guy! Ken is a passionate follower of Christ who is a catalytic leader in God’s mission. What struck me more than anything was a story that arose during our conversation. When Ken began the work in Japan over 40 years ago, he asked a Japanese pastor about his vision. The pastor went on in great detail about his vision for multiplying churches around Tokyo. After sharing a good bit of time, the Japanese leader said, "I'm sorry, I've been talking all this time about my vision. Would you please tell me about your vision for the ministry?"
