At our October meeting, the A3 board unanimously and enthusiastically elected Ron McMahon to serve as the lifetime honorary chairman of our board. It was a deeply meaningful time together as we reflected on Ron's 23 years as our chairman.
Because of Ron's great leadership, we are well on our way to celebrating 50 years of ministry in 2017. Prior to Ron's tenure, only one other chairman, Carlton Booth, led the way for us. It is amazing to have such longevity at the helm of a mission. We are blessed by the stability that both Ron and Carlton have given A3.
With this new appointment, Ron will continue to have a strategic role in the life of our mission. He will be an advisor to our president, Joe Handley, and to our new chairman, Phil Foxwell.
Ron, we are grateful for your leadership! As Doug Birdsall recently stated:
"Thank you for your leadership as A3 Board Chairman all these years Ron. Your statesmanship and your wisdom as a leader with rich experience in business, the church and missions helped guide use through a time of challenging leadership transition, internal personnel and financial issues, to a point where the mission is now strong, focused and expanding across Asia. All together, I believe you have served on the board for 30 years!
Thank you Ron. I can never repay you for all that you have done for me as a friend and mentor, and for all that you have done for A3. God bless you!"
And Phil Foxwell shared:
"It has always been a joy to work with Ron, nearly all of his 23 yrs as board chair. There have been numerous times over the years that the mission has greatly benefitted from Ron’s wisdom and godly leadership, and we look forward to much more of that in the years ahead."
We all share this sense of deep gratitude, Ron. Thank you for everything. You have set the bar high and we are grateful for your leadership!
