A Warm Invitation

Some of you know that our neighbor gave us an invitation to spend Thanksgiving or Christmas together with their family.

Well, the story get’s even better…

As you’ll see in these photos, the first invite is pictured above... and then came the second. Oh my!

A Surprising Response

letter 2

Silk wrote a nice note to our neighbor giving them some sweets from Kyoto where we had just spent Thanksgiving as a family. Their response was a bundle of joy!

Since we won’t be able to visit them before we leave for the States on holiday, she asked about us coming to join them in the New Year. Little did we know the surprise that would await us at the end. They spoke of second week of Advent and the coming of the Savior! Of course, they go on to suggest that when we came in August, that we were the savior but that may just be an issue of second languages.

Who knows? Maybe the Lord has placed a "person of peace" as our next door neighbor! We pray this is so… May this home be a light to the baby we worship this season. May the coming of Christ shine brightly in our neighborhood. Lord, thank you for opening up a heart so quickly to us here in Japan. We’re amazed!

Is there a person of peace in your life?

What opportunity is God placing in your lap this Advent Season?

And, I hope you enjoy our free devotional gifts this year. If you’ve not yet seen them, you can access them on this link
