Disciple-Making & Being Church Wherever Life Happens

spark teams dsathyadass book promo

A3/India alumnus Dr. Danny Sathyadass has a new book that I highly recommend.

COV SparkTeams"Spark Teams" by Dr. Danny Sathyadass is a masterful guide that brings together solid discipleship principles and practical insights to ignite transformative movements for Christ. As an alumnus of A3, Danny exemplifies the spirit of our mission: multiplying transformational leaders who influence their spheres for the Kingdom of God. This book is a testament to the growth and fruitfulness that arise from leaders who lean on God and draw from the wisdom of trusted mentors and proven guides.

Danny’s emphasis on small, Christ-centered teams aligns perfectly with the principles we champion at A3. By weaving in real-life examples of disciple-making movements and marketplace ministries, the book offers readers a roadmap to empower others, foster community, and multiply disciples who live out the gospel authentically. The frameworks he provides are a simple and useful structure for building and sustaining teams that embody the people of God.

This work is not only the product of deep reflection and extensive experience but also a reflection of Danny’s reliance on the Holy Spirit and the guidance of seasoned leaders and mentors. Spark Teams for Change is a must-read for those who are ready to embrace their call to disciple-making and catalyzing transformational movements.

DANNY'S OVERVIEW OF SPARK TEAMS (see link to his video below)

The title of the book is "Spark Teams", and I've used the word "teams" to highlight the significance of functions that are important for the body of Christ.

And those functions are based on Acts 2—Teaching, Evangelism, Adoration, Mentoring, and Sharing, which is an acronym that spells "TEAMS". The emphasis of focusing on the few who are disciples of Christ, in other words, centered around the person of Christ who can impact many. And what do I mean by "many"? It's just doing the same thing over and over again.

Therefore, the title of the book is "Spark Teams", having that meaning of doing this differently. Because a lot of times people think of big mega projects or big programs to see transformation, but sometimes you've just got to focus on the few. And if everyone does the same thing, it's going to bring about changes subsequently.

The book highlights what discipleship is all about, which is based on the love of Christ. It's not fear-based; it's not intimidating people, but it's about DRAWING, INFLUENCING, and EMPOWERING people to function as the body of Christ.

Unfortunately, a lot of agencies, including corporates, tend to DRIVE, IMPOSE and EXPLOIT or EMBARRASS people in order to get results.

But I don't think that's what Christ did. He focused on love, and he DREW them with compassion, INFLUENCED them by his example, and EMPOWERED every disciple to work alongside with him. That's what I'm emphasizing.

The fact that we are the Church, it's not where we go for a service, but we who serve wherever we go. So it highlights that as a team, as a family, you can function as the body of Christ and make changes on every street, and in every office.

You can see a movement that can just penetrate into every facet of society. And that can definitely make an impact for the Kingdom of God.
