Last month while attending a session in Cambodia, we spent some time with A3 alumnus BN (pictured here). Pastor BN has a remarkable story. He had a brutal past, involved in some of the ugliest history his country has ever seen. He was personally responsible for horrible atrocities many times over.

After the Khmer Rouge was pushed to the sidelines in Cambodia, following the Killing Fields, he went into hiding. Along the way, his wife met Jesus and he was astounded that she loved Jesus so much that she would often disobey him just to attend church. He even beat her many times admonishing her not to go to church. But, she kept going.

The Transforming Power of the Gospel

He couldn’t believe it. So one day he followed her and next thing you know, the Gospel got ahold of him. Over time, he eventually became a pastor, and God started blessing his work tremendously. So much so, that he was invited to be part of A3 training. During one of the sessions, when a faculty member talked about the Apostle Paul being chief among sinners, BN broke down. He later told our national director that he was worse than the Apostle Paul. That week, the Lord really spoke to BN and he learned that God truly does forgive all when we repent and follow Him.

As Pastor BN finished his course with A3, he went back to his region and has led tons of former Khmer Rouge military people to Jesus. Moreover, since graduating, he has planted 77 churches in that region.

It’s truly a miracle. God can turn anyone around, and He can use us no matter what we’ve done or been through. That’s the transforming power of the Gospel!

May we see many more miracle stories like this one.
