Not long ago I met this pastor in one of our A3 cohorts. His name, face and country are hidden to protect him, his family, church and the work of God in his community.
Finding Christ and Following Him
What a story though! As he was sharing, I learned that he was formerly a Hindu Priest. He came to the capital of his country to seek a better life because he was on the brink of disaster—close to suicide because his life was so bad. Along the way he got to see the Jesus Film which changed his life. He became a Christ Follower and started his first church 17 years ago.
He was chosen for the latest cohort of pastoral leader development a few years ago and shared his strategy paper with us during the final graduating session. Wow, what a vision!
He believes his church will lead 2.4M people to Christ.
I quickly looked up the statistics and noticed that is 8% of the entire population of his country. Talk about BIG VISION! I was inspired. Who knows if he’ll reach that goal, but his country has been one of the fastest growing Christian populations that exists today and I believe he’ll see quite a number led to Christ through his various ministries a major core of which is using the Jesus Film.
Submitting to God's Leadership in Our Lives
It’s amazing seeing what God can do when we submit to his leadership in our lives. This pastor has committed himself to growing in Christ, becoming a stronger disciple, facilitating a disciple-making movement and sparking evangelism in ways I’ve never seen before. I praise God for him!
Will you pray for him and his country? They are under immense pressure and yet the work of God is expanding at remarkable rates. They need your prayers and your support!
